.......Just off the main square on O'Connell St is Nude Food - an absolute gem of a find. We visited for lunch and were completely wowed over by the food.  An extensive menu made choice difficult, but my wife's Ploughman's Lunch was the best version of the dish we ever came across, and the lamb burger for me was simply superb.

Chef Louise Clark also opens for dinner from Thursday to Saturday and booking is a must. And if you dine out once in Dungarvan, or are just passing through, then Nude Food ticks all of the boxes. ......

Louise Clarke can do it all, and that is why Nude Food is such a hotshot place to eat. She has been a marketeer, selling her own cooked food, a fact that allowed her café to take off like a rocket when she opened in late 2008, for Ms Clarke was already a Waterford brand. She has been a caterer, and still cooks for groups, events and occasions. And as a restaurateur she has the confidence and élan that comes from such a deep background. Marketeer Louise Clark has joined the ranks of the Dungarvan Dynamos with the opening of her super little cafe and restaurant, Nude Food, on O'Connell Street, following on from her huge success with The Naked Lunch in the market.

From Naked to Nude: well, it's a career path of sorts. It's an eclectic space: mismatched furniture, old living room lamps and a chandelier made from old bottles, but it all works and the place has a lovely ambience. The food never misses the spot: pork belly with roasted butternut squash, couscous and hummus and char-grilled sourdough bread is outstandingly good. Hederman's smoked salmon with cucumber and cream cheese on brown bread is ace, the salmon cut into nice thick pieces, and that bread and butter pudding bubbling in the oven has your name on it, if you can but resist the pear and almond tart with Glenilen clotted cream. Good coffees, good service, low prices - what more can one possibly want? A new star.
